Avanos as it is a part of Cappadocia has been one of the greatest cultural, historical and natural heritages of our country, and it has been center of tradition of pottery. The art of pottery dates back to Hittites, 4000 BC. The history accumulated in the region over centuries and this traditional handicraft passed down from father to son. In addition to historical artifacts, there are also modern and traditional works of world-famous Turkish ceramic artists in the museum.
